ANGLERS' LEGACY: LET'S ALL SUPPORT IT!
Fish Boats Registry, now a fullfledged, mainstream national saltwater fishing and boating publication, is proud to take the lead – through its readers, subscribers, and advertisers – in supporting the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) brand-new Anglers’ Legacy program.
First off, you may ask, what is the RBFF? In short, it’s a non-profit organization that’s been around for a number of years whose mission is to “increase participation in recreational angling and boating, and thereby increase public awareness and appreciation of the need for protecting, conserving and restoring this nation’s aquatic natural resources.” Anoble mission, indeed.
And just what is the Anglers’ Legacy program? It’s a drive to ask each of America’s 7.5 million avid anglers to “Take the Pledge” to share the gift of fishing and introduce someone new to the sport. These Anglers’ Legacy Ambassadors can swell the ranks of folks who care about our fish and the marine and freshwater environments, and help generate sales for the boating and fishing industries that help protect the future of the sport and our natural resources.
Each new Ambassadors pledge generates an initial $120 in fishing tackle and equipment, and $166 in boating supplies and fuel. Right now the program is approaching 10,000 Ambassadors.
The beauty of Anglers’ Legacy is its simplicity. The program is about delivering a message that we all can relate to on a personal level. Whether you are a reader, manufacturer, state agency, pro-angler, retailer or fishing club, you can speak to our conservation efforts in seconds by using your communication channels to deliver three simple core messages:
- Give back what you’ve been given: The gift of fishing.
- Take someone you know out on the water.
- Get connected to the cause!
Start building your legacy today by Taking the Pledge to take someone new fishing. Just go to www.anglerslegacy.org or look for the Take the Pledge sign-on at our newlyrevamped site, http://www.fishboatsregistry.com/.
Together we can make a real difference!
